Translation:

We will surely put you to trial by involving you in fear and hunger and by causing loss of property, life and earnings. And give good tidings to those who remain steadfast in these trials:

Translation:

Spend your wealth in the Way of Allah and do not cast yourselves into ruin with your own hands. Do all things gracefully, for Allah loves those who do all things with excellence.

Translit: Waanfiqoo fee sabeeli Allahi wala tulqoo biaydeekum ila alttahlukati waahsinoo inna Allaha yuhibbu almuhsineena

Translation:

(And when he came as a Messenger to the children of Israel, he said,) "I have come to you with a clear Sign from your Lord: in your very presence, I make the likeness of a bird out of clay and breathe into it and it becomes, by Allahs Command, a bird. I heal those born blind and the lepers and I bring to life the dead by Allahs Command: I inform you of what you eat and what you store up in your houses. Surely there is a great Sign for you in all this, if you have a mind to believe.

Translit: Warasoolan ila banee israeela annee qad jitukum biayatin min rabbikum annee akhluqu lakum mina altteeni kahayati alttayri faanfukhu feehi fayakoonu tayran biithni Allahi waobrio alakmaha waalabrasa waohyee almawta biithni Allahi waonabbiokum bima takuloona wama taddakhiroona fee buyootikum inna fee thalika laayatan lakum in kuntum mumineena

Translation:

After the coming of this knowledge to you, if anyone argues with you about this matter, say, O Muhammad, "Come, let us both gather together and also bring our children and your children, our women and your women, and then pray to Allah and invoke Him to lay the liars under His curse."

Translit: Faman hajjaka feehi min baAAdi ma jaaka mina alAAilmi faqul taAAalaw nadAAu abnaana waabnaakum wanisaana wanisaakum waanfusana waanfusakum thumma nabtahil fanajAAal laAAnata Allahi AAala alkathibeena

Translation:

O Muslims, you shall surely be tried in your possessions and in your selves; you shall hear many hurtful things from those who were given the Book before you and from those who associate other gods with Allah. But if you show fortitude, and fear Allah under all circumstances, this will be (a proof of) constancy of purpose.

Well, what harm would have come upon them, if they had believed in Allah and the Last Day and spent out of what Allah had given them? Had they done so, Allah would surely have had knowledge of their good deeds.

Translation:

Those people from among the Muslims who stay at home without any genuine excuse are not equal in rank with those who exert their utmost with their lives and wealth for the cause of Allah. For Allah has assigned a higher rank to those who exert their utmost with their lives and wealth than those who stay at home. Though Allah has promised a good reward for all, he has a far richer reward for those who fight for Him than for those who stay at home:

Translation:

We had prescribed this decree in the Torah for the Jews: "Life for life, eye for eye, nose for nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth, and for all wounds equal retaliation." However, whoever forgoes retaliation as charity, it shall be expiation for him: those, who do not judge by the Law which Allah has sent down, are indeed the unjust people.

Translation:

You should go on relating these stories to them: it may be that they consider them seriously. Very bad is the example of those who treated Our Revelations as false and they have been doing wrong to their own selves.

Translation:

Those who embraced the Faith and emigrated from their homes and expended their possessions and their lives in the Way of Allah, and those who gave refuge to the emigrants and helped them, are indeed the guardians of one another. However, you have no relation of guardianship with those who have embraced the Faith, but have not emigrated (to Dar-ul-Islam) until they emigrates50 (to it); yet it is obligatory on you to help them in the matters of Faith, if they ask for your help, except against a people with whom you have a treaty.

Translit: Inna allatheena amanoo wahajaroo wajahadoo biamwalihim waanfusihim fee sabeeli Allahi waallatheena awaw wanasaroo olaika baAAduhum awliyao baAAdin waallatheena amanoo walam yuhajiroo ma lakum min walayatihim min shayin hatta yuhajiroo waini istansarookum fee alddeeni faAAalaykumu alnnasru illa AAala qawmin baynakum wabaynahum meethaqun waAllahu bima taAAmaloona baseerun

Those alone who have believed, and left their homes and exerted their utmost with their lives and possessions in the Way of Allah, shall have the highest ranks with Allah: they are truly successful.

Translation:

March forth whether you be light or heavy,43 and exert your utmost in Allahs Way with your possessions and your lives: this is best for you, if you but know it.

Translit: Infiroo khifafan wathiqalan wajahidoo biamwalikum waanfusikum fee sabeeli Allahi thalikum khayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoona

For; those, who believe in Allah and the Last Day, will never ask you to exempt them from doing Jihad with their possessions and their persons: Allah knows well those who fear Him.

Translation:

Those who were allowed to remain behind, were happy that they had not gone with Allahs Messenger, and had stayed at home, for they did not like to do Jihad in the Way of Allah with their possessions and their persons. They said to the people, "Do not go forth in this heat." Say to them, "The Fire of Hell is much hotter than this"; would that they understood this!

Translit: Fariha almukhallafoona bimaqAAadihim khilafa rasooli Allahi wakarihoo an yujahidoo biamwalihim waanfusihim fee sabeeli Allahi waqaloo la tanfiroo fee alharri qul naru jahannama ashaddu harran law kanoo yafqahoona

But the Messenger and those who shared his belief did Jihad with their possessions and persons: now all the good things are for them only and they alone are truly successful.

Translation:

And have they never seen how We cause the water to flow to a barren land and there from bring forth crops of which their animals and they themselves eat? Do they not see anything?

Translit: Awalam yaraw anna nasooqu almaa ila alardi aljuruzi fanukhriju bihi zarAAan takulu minhu anAAamuhum waanfusuhum afala yubsiroona

Translation:

Those who recite the Book of Allah and establish the Salat, and spend out of what We have given them, secretly and openly, do hope for a bargain which involves no loss.

Translation:

Believe in Allah and His Messenger and spend out of what He has made you successor. For those of you who will believe and expend of their wealth there is a great reward.

Translation:

It is that you should believe in Allah and His Messenger, and should exert your utmost in Allah's Way with your wealth and your selves. This would be best for you if you only knew.

Translit: Tuminoona biAllahi warasoolihi watujahidoona fee sabeeli Allahi biamwalikum waanfusikum thalikum khayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoona

Spend from the provisions that We have given you before death should come to any of you and then he should say, "O my Lord, why did You not reprieve me awhile that I should have given in charity and become of the righteous?"

Translit: Waanfiqoo min ma razaqnakum min qabli an yatiya ahadakumu almawtu fayaqoola rabbi lawla akhkhartanee ila ajalin qareebin faassaddaqa waakun mina alssaliheena

Therefore, fear Allah as far as you can, and listen and obey and spend your wealth : this is for your own good. And those who are saved from the greed of their own hearts, are truly successful.

Translit: Faittaqoo Allaha ma istataAAtum waismaAAoo waateeAAoo waanfiqoo khayran lianfusikum waman yooqa shuhha nafsihi faolaika humu almuflihoona

Translation:

Lodge them (in the waiting-period) where you yourselves live, according to your means, and do not harass them so as to straiten them. And if they are pregnant, spend on them until they deliver their burden. Then if they suckle (the child) for you, give them their wages, and settle the question of wages) fairly by mutual consultation. But if you created difficulties for each other (concerning the question of wages). then another woman would suckle the child.
